Childhood in 936 weeks
From birth to 18 there are about 936 weeks. By the time a child starts kindergarten, roughly 260 of them, more than a quarter, are already filled in. Seeing that on paper is why so many parents find this the most moving page on the site.
Rows are grouped in blocks of six years, which roughly line up with early childhood, the elementary years, and the teenage years.
Ways to use it
Parents: shade the weeks so far and put the page somewhere you see it during a busy week. Kids: color one box every weekend and pick a color for each school year. Classrooms: use it to teach fractions and multiplication; 52 times 18 is a satisfying problem when the answer is on the wall.
Make it a baby book page by writing milestones beside the right row: first steps, first day of school, first bike.
Printing
Fewer rows mean much larger boxes, so letter paper is ideal. Crayons fit.
